STATE INSPECTION IN SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI
Schedule Your Inspection Today – U.S. Automotive
WHAT IS A STATE INSPECTION?
If your vehicle is registered in Missouri, it must pass an inspection conducted by an authorized inspection station to ensure it meets the state’s safety standards. During this inspection, several tests are conducted on your car, spanning every component that’s integral not just to your safety but also to the safety of other drivers. A safety inspection is needed when the vehicle is first registered and completed within 60 days. After that, even model years must be safety/emissions inspected on even calendar years, and odd model years must be inspected on odd calendar years. It’s important to note that in Missouri, the annual vehicle safety inspection is separate from vehicle emissions testing. The latter is only mandatory for drivers registered to operate in one of the required counties: St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Franklin County, or Jefferson County. You will receive a renewal notice from the Department of Revenue when your vehicle needs a safety inspection. Exemptions may apply—please contact our auto shop for further information.
