About Us
Our Story
U.S. Automotive Inc. is locally owned and operated. Terry Hyden is the owner and has been around cars his whole life. His father, Ernie, worked for Rogers Auto Salvage in the 1950s and as a young 6 year old played around the salvage yard for years. As he got older, his dad would allow him and his brother, Willie, to dismantle junk cars and put them back together. Years and years of experience later, he really knew cars, which led to him opening US Automotive Inc. on the corner of Sunshine Street and West Bypass on November 9, 1983, with just $4,000 in the bank. He even missed the first weekend of deer hunting. But he continued to press on and work hard and as the only mechanic for a year, grew to add more staff and technicians over time. For almost 40 years, US Automotive has remained locally owned and been helpful to fix vehicle repairs. They continue to know cars and stay updated with the latest technology and newer vehicles. You can still find Terry working hard at the front counter at their new location on West Sunshine just West of Kansas Expressway.

We’ve been in business since the early 1980s, but our experience is even greater than that. Accounting for all our technicians, we have a combined 150+ years of experience in service and repair! Our technicians are thoroughly trained to remain updated on the latest automotive engineering and technology and repair techniques and processes. We also only use high-quality parts in our parts replacement services.
